Wayne Chew Jia Tan (born 1998) is a Dauian professional footballer who last played as a goalkeeper for Daau Super League club Bintang Lukana.

Youth career

Growing up in the western region of the nation, Wayne is a product of the Salawak Crocs youth system. Despite starting late at the age of 13, Wayne was given the goalkeeper role during his youth days as he had the height and strength to do so. He was a common member of the Salawak Crocs Youth Star XI at the end of each season as he was a consistent perfomer in goal. Wayne would continue to play and train with the team and was given chances to impress for the first team during his stay.

Club career

Bintang Lukana

Bintang announced the arrival of Wayne on 2nd of July, 2022. The signing was a shock for most fans as he was an inexperienced goalkeeper and had the heavy duty to replace the retired Jiang Xu. Despite the situation, Wayne made his professional debut in 1-0 win over Aeland Krasno Natives in which he was involved in the brawl.

As Farizal Marlias was out for a while due to a heavy injury, Wayne stepped up and managed to keep 6 cleansheets despite an injury ridden defence and saw the team rise up to 1st place in the league. Following him suffering a torn ACL injury early in pre-season, Wayne was given a free transfer away from Bintang in order for him to focus on recovery.
