Shepherd huts (Ransenar)

Ostensibly rustic concrete structures, colloquially termed as shepherd huts, began to appear in rural districts of East Caverden and Monty Crisco during the period subsequent to the Day of Rage. By early 1732 AN these structures had nearly ubiquitous in pastoral fields, along road sides, dotted amongst hedgerows, and distributed around the edges of rural townships. Prefabricated concrete huts of a distinctly sturdy nature also began to appear amongst the foothills of the more upland mountainous regions of East Caverden.

Construction efforts appeared to have been led by Royal Engineering & Services Support Forces, supported by labour columns supplied by the Benacian Labour Reserve.

At various times during daylight hours these structures could be seen to be frequented by gentlemen vaguely attired in the manner of shepherds, and agricultural labourers. Periodically they would be observed engaged in some suitably rustic activity, but more often they would seem to be positioned at irregular intervals and stood about as if engaged in a vigil of some kind.

It might be considered pure happenstance that these structures began to appear at more regular intervals, sometimes as close as a kilometre, the closer one happened to venture towards the closed frontier with Shireroth.
