Department of Housing and Urban Development (Nouvelle Alexandrie)
The Department of Housing and Urban Development is the department that establishes and coordinates national housing policy and urban planning, including the development, maintenance, and improvement of urban and rural communities. It also handles re-development, gentrification, and housing rights.
The Department for Housing and Urban Development works closely together the Department of Civil Works and Transportation and Department of Interior on matters of common policy, especially the promotion and development of civil works and infrastructure, and for preservation of the environment.
The department is headed by a Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, who is appointed by the King on the advice of the President of the Government. The Secretary of Housing and Urban Development is a member of the Council of State.
The department was established in 1718 AN to administer the housing projects and urban development. is headquartered at East Meadow Tower Building, in the Government Triangle neighborhood of Cárdenas, FCD. It took over certain aspects of the Department of Civil Works and Transportation, particularly the Housing and Urban Development divisions.
