November 2013 Hammish General Election
The November 2013 General Election in the Commonwealth of Hamland was simulated on the 1st November 2013 with Duke Sinclair being elected Prime Minister shortly after. The election came as a shock as opinion polls had put the incumbent Social Liberal Party narrowly ahead. Despite this, the concentration of PIP votes in areas with large populations allowed them to come first in the election.
This election represented the first change in government in the modern Commonwealth of Hamland.
The electoral term of November 2013 was notably active. The term saw the emergence of the threat from Jingdao, the rapid expansion of Commonwealth Foreign Policy and relations, the creation of Hamland's Area of Freedom and Security Policy, the treaty with Haifa linking the two states very closely and reinstatement of previous Hammish institutions such as the court and its spy agency the BIBE.
