Treaty of the Stadtholder Adam Rettich Harbour
The Treaty of the Stadtholder Adam Rettich Harbour is a treaty between the Lanzerwald and the Imperial Federation. It establishes formal relations between the two neighbouring states, and also provides for the establishment of a commonly controlled harbour, the Statthalterrettichshafen. The treaty was signed on 15.XIV.1711.
Treaty of the Stadtholder Adam Rettich Harbour
Treaty between the Republic of the United Cities in the Lanzerwald, to be named Lanzerwald in the rest of this document, and the Imperial Federation of Ralgon, Nixtorm, and Tar-Palantir, to be named the Imperial Federation in the rest of this document. Collectively Lanzerwald and the Imperial Federation will be named the treaty partners in the rest of this document.
Article 1.
The treaty partners recognise each other's souvereignty over the territory held by them in accordance with the customs and regulations, as they are written in the Charter of the Micras Cartography Society.
Article 2.
The treaty partners will abstain from any hostile actions, or hostile posturing towards the other party. Additionally, the treaty partners commit to resolve all their mutual disputes cordially.
Article 3.
The treaty partners shall remain open and accessible to visitors and traders from one another, forasmuch is permissible under reasonable and non-discriminatory law.
Article 4.
The Imperial Federation will allow the construction and exploitation of a harbor on a plot of land of approximately 36 square kilometers, which shall be named Stadtholder Adam Rettich Harbour in Istvanistani, or Statthalterrettichshafen in Cibolan-Saxon, on the west coast of Bomei Island by the Stadtholder Adam Rettich Harbour Cooperative, a private organisation to be registered in Oudorp in the 1st month of 1712 and of which both parties will hold 50% of the shares.
Article 5.
The premises of the Stadtholder Adam Rettich Harbour remain part of the sovereign territory of the Imperial Federation and the Lanzerwald shall not place any military units or objects in the harbour without the explicit consent of the Imperial Federation. Both parties shall refrain from taking any actions that might result in the loss of life or property in the Stadtholder Adam Rettich Harbour or its vicinity.
Article 6.
Children born on the premisses of the Stadtholder Adam Rettich Harbour can be awarded either the nationality of the Lanzerwald, or the Imperial Federation depending on the circumstences:
- If the child is born to two parents that both hold the Lanzerwaldian nationality, it shall be awarded the Lanzerwaldian nationality.
- If the child is born to two parents that both hold the nationality of the Imperial Federation, shall be awarded the nationality of the Imperial Federation.
- If the child is born to parents of different nationalities, it shall be the decision of the mother which nationality shall be awarded to the child.
Article 7.
Should the Imperial Federation choose to abandon Bomei Island, it shall notify the Lanzerwald of its intentions beforehand, and assist the Lanzerwald in taking over sovereignty over the island.
