The uniformed services of Port Balaine Gendarmery (Batavian: geuniformde diensten van Walhavenplaats; Alexandrian: services en uniforme du Port Balaine) are the collective disciplined, unarmed services in the Autonomous State of Port Balaine. The services provide statewide security to Port Balaine, a constituent state of Confederate States of Floria, including policing, search and rescue, and public health.

State Constabulary

The Port Balaine State Constabulary (Batavian: Staatspolitiemacht van Walhavenplaats; Alexandrian: Service de police d'état du Port Balaine) is the state police and security service of Port Balaine. It is tasked with the mitigation of internal threats, rooting out criminal elements, and maintaining the security of lives, property, and the state. The constabulary also provides protection services at strategic assets and government facilities.

The constabulary performs its duties as both uniformed officers and plainclothed internal intelligence agents. There are around 12,400 police constables.

Coast Guard

The Port Balaine Coast Guard (Batavian: Kustwacht van Walhavenplaats; Alexandrian: Garde-côte du Port Balaine) is the maritime emergency services organization in Port Balaine. The service performs maritime search and rescue, aided by the Civil Air Service, as well as maritime safety. When a warranted police constable of the State Constabulary is onboard a vessel, the coast guard also performs maritime policing, particularly in Wellingdon Harbor.

There are around 1,530 coastguardsmen.

Civil Air Service

The Port Balaine Civil Air Service (Batavian: Civiele Luchtvaartdienst van Walhavenplaats; Alexandrian: Service de l'aviation civile du Port Balaine) is the aviation emergency services organization in Port Balaine. The service performs search and rescue, flying doctor and air ambulance services in the state. Through collaboration with the State Constabulary, the service also provides police support, especially in rural areas.

Though a service in its own right, the Civil Air Service operates under the direction of the Coast Guard and shares much of the coast guard's uniform. There are around 980 airmen.

Public Health Service

The Port Balaine Public Health Service (Batavian: Volksgezondheidsdienst van Walhavenplaats; Alexandrian: Service de santé publique du Port Balaine) is the state police and security service of Port Balaine. It is tasked with the mitigation of internal threats, rooting out criminal elements, and maintaining the security of lives, property, and the state. The constabulary also provides protection services at strategic assets and government facilities.

The constabulary performs its duties as both uniformed officers and plainclothed internal intelligence agents.

There are around 120 servicemembers.

Uniformed service auxiliaries

Each uniformed service has the legal right to engage the services of volunteer "auxiliarists" to perform their missions. Auxiliarists may enjoy the same grades, similar operational opportunities, and most staff positions as regular servicemembers. An auxiliarist is obligated to provide 16 hours of service a month. The coast of fuel, equipment, and wear and tear on vehicles are reimbursed.

However, auxiliarists are limited in some positions. They cannot be commanding officers, be warranted police constables, and cannot rise above the grade of S-3.1. For this reason, the volunteers are least common in the State Constabulary, limited to community support roles. The Public Health Service engages the most auxiliarists, constituting a third of the service.

Uniforms

Rank insignia

The service dress and active service uniforms of the uniformed services use rank slides on the shoulders to represent member grades. Each slide carries the same rank insignia, though the color of the slides and uniform varies based on the service. General grades are always white on the slides.

  • State Constabulary: black over charcoal black.
  • Coast Guard: dark blue over green-blue.
  • Civil Air Service: light blue over green-blue.
  • Public Health Service: orange over dark olive green.

Auxiliary members of the services are distinguished by an additional tab off the end of each rank slide with "AUXILIARY" emblazoned across.
