Vegnese Armed Forces
The Vegnese Armed Forces (Vegnian: Forze armate vegnesi) encompass the Vegnese Army, the Vegnese Navy and the Vegnese Air Force. A fourth branch of the armed forces of Vegno, known as the Gendarmi, take on the role as the nation's military police. The national defence policy aims to guarantee the preservation of the independence and sovereignty of the state, the integrity of its land area, territorial waters, airspace and its constitutional order. The President of Vegno heads the armed forces as Chief of the Armed Forces.

Structure
Esercito Vegnese
The Vegnese Army is the main arm of the defence forces. It is responsible to the Government of Vegno, along with the other components of the Armed Forces.
Marina Militare
The Vegnese Navy is responsible for all naval operations and protecting of the territorial waters of Vegno. The main functions of the naval force are the preparation and organisation of the defence of the territorial waters and coastal line, ensuring the maritime security, communications and sea traffic in the territorial waters.
Aeronautica Militare
The Vegnese Air Force is the main arm of the Vegnese aviation forces.
Gendarmi
The Gendarmeria Nazionale, also known as Corpo di Gendarmeria per la Sicurezza Nazionale (Gendarmerie Corps for National Security), is the gendarmerie and military police of Vegno. They primarily carry out domestic policing duties. As the fourth branch of the Armed Forces, they come under the authority of the Ministry of Defence; for activities related to inland public order and security, they functionally depend on the Ministry of the Interior. Because of its military status, the Gendarmeria also fulfills a range of military and defence missions, including having a cybercrime division.
