The Teir'Dal Wasteland, also known as the Teir'Dal Corridor, is an east-west tract of land in north-central Apollonia. It was given its name by ancient Menelmacar and means the dark dales, a reference to the wild dragons laying waste to the lands and the fecundity of Infernal species resulting from the presence of their state that once occupied the western peninsular area. The term wasteland was applied because, by the time of the Menelmacari, the area's rich forests had been left a charred waste of ash by the uncontrolled dragons, balrogs and other wayward denizens of the deep. Menelmacar managed to unite the area briefly under Ashintully, but the state was eventually overrun by hostile tribes.

Despite prevailing over these dark forces (or at least leashing them), the corridor became a successive debacle of internecine warfare as various migratory tribes fought for control. Juttes, Saskens, Balds, Slobs, Budds, Ketts, Hobs, Novans, and a plethora of other tribes waged relentless war across the region, leaving it barren and inhospitable. Thus the moniker of wasteland became forever imprinted upon the area.
