Order of As-Saif

The Order of As-Saif is an order of distinction of Kurum Ash-Sharqia. It was established in 1702 AN after the birth of prince Saif Ad-Din ibn Salah Ad-Din Al-Lusirni, the first son of sultan Salah Ad-Din.
The order is divided into four degrees:
- 1st class, Grand Cordon, awarded to royal family members and to foreign heads-of-state and high dignitaries
- 2nd class, Commander, awarded to important statesmen with a long service record or a particular merit for the Sultanate
- 3rd class, Officer, awarded to citizens and foreigners for merits for the Sultanate
- 4th class, Knight or Dame, awarded to citizens and foreigners for merits for the Sultanate
Membership
Membership is awarded by the Sultan, with approval of the Grand Vizier.
