The Micronational Cartography Society (MCS) undertook an extraordinary vote amongst its member nations on 25 August 2019 following a motion of confidence by Administrator-General Craitman H. Pellegrino in his own position after reaching ten years in the role on 23 August.[1]. Having held the role for a decade—approximately three times as long as any previous officeholder—Craitman felt that establishing official support of the MCS's membership would be the fairest mandate for continuing his authority.
Although none have previously taken place, usually votes of confidence in Council members would be made requiring a three-quarters majority to remove them, under §8 (1) of the Charter of the MCS,[2] but due to the uniqueness of the situation, Craitman stipulated that a simple majority would be decisive.
Voting outcome
The vote was overseen by Craitman, with all 53 member states of the MCS as of 25 August 2019 eligible to vote. Craitland and Tellia, whose MCS representative is Craitman, refused to vote.
