The Weerstandsmonument (Monument of Resistance) was constructed by the Transbataafsche Vrystaat in Nackholm as a symbol of resistance against larger, imperial powers.

The Weerstandsmonument, in English known as Monument of Resistance, is located in Nackholm and constructed in the aftermath of the Grootu Trek Oostwaarts and Fall Schwartz-Tilman campaign. It's built on the remains of the Naye-Masada Fortress, which was used as a training ground for partisans during the Minarborian era.

Meant to be a symbol of national unity and resistance against any foreign power, it was also controversial as the funding of the project was expensive and could probably have been better used to reconstruct other parts of the city which had been bombed by Shirerithian bomber planes.

The construction took place between 1659 and 1660 and was eventually inaugurated in the presence of Vryheer August Baerdemans on 12.02.1660.
