Association football in Sanama is regulated by the Sanaman Football Federation. The association is responsible for organising the Sanama men's national football team and the Sanama women's national football team. It also organises and regulates the federal levels of the football pyramid. The top two divisions are national, while the third and fourth level are organised based on the regions. Under this federal structure, each canton organise their own system. All divisions operate with a promotion and relegation scheme. The leagues operate on the AN calendar, which means that due to Temporal Haemorrhaging, Sanama participates in the FMF World Cup every 24 years.
