Council of the Wechua Nation
The Council of the Wechua Nation, also known as the Council of the Realm (Rimana Huñunakuy), is the unicameral body that assumes legislative power in the Wechua Nation. There are 301 members of the Council, called Royal Councillors. They are popularly elected and allowed to serve consecutive terms. The Council of the Wechua Nation meets in the Legislative House, located one of the inner boroughs of the capital city, Parap.
History
Electoral history
Wechua has always been the strongest region for the Federal Humanist Party, even voting them in the years that Julio Delgado was in power. In the past few years, the People's Liberty Congress has been a growing power in the region. There are three regional parties: Nawpaqman! (Forwards!), the Wechua Communist Party, and the Alexandrian Historical Party; of which the first is the most influential.
Composition
There are 301 Royal Councillors, chosen by proportional representation, from the total voting base. The Parliament is led by the Speaker, while the executive is in the hands of the Governor of Wechua. He appoints the Regional Cabinet.
