The Church of Caputia, also known as the Melusinian Faith, is the state church of the Kingdom of the Union of Caputia. It is the largest church in the country and it occupies great importance in the development and history of the country.
The Archbishop of Zalae is the most senior cleric, although the Queen is the Supreme Governor of the church. The Melusinian faith is a sect of Bovinism, as such, it is considered a sister church to the Dozan Bovic Church. Its history can be traced to the city of Thaleia, Thalassa in Natopia.
The Church of Caputia was established by Royal Decree, when the people of Caputia began petitioning Queen Elizabeth I of Caputia to create a church worshiping Melusine, in fulfillment of the Vision of Zalae presented by Melusine to the people.
Organization and structure
The governing structure of the church is based on dioceses, each presided over by a bishop. Within each diocese are local parishes. The General Synod of the Church of Caputia is the legislative body for the church and comprises bishops, other clergy, and laity. The Caputian Parliament has the power to override any decision taken by the General Synod.
