History

Nova England as a micronation was first conceived following its founder Josephus discovering micronations through a simple advert of the Danny Wallace's[ 'Lovely' Project. After weeks of attempting to start a micronation within the actual Lovelian Forums, Josephus then established Nova England's first forum. Although now lost to the winds it enabled Nova England to finally start to develop its somewhat unusual culture. The forum at first attracted a mixture of English Nationalists who all shaped the nation towards its first cultural identity which was based on Roman Britannian. However this was latter developed further to allow for more Anglo Saxon elements to be pushed into the culture which is reflected best in East Moorland English which is a complete bastardisation of Latin and Anglo Saxon. Early in its history Nova England became close allies with another nation based upon the British Isles, that nation was New Britannia. NE and NB shared very close relations with each other right up and till NB's death in which the spirit of their nation was passed on to the Nova English who still upkeep some of NB's territories now.

During 2008 Nova England became a SAR of Riponia due to worries that mass activity may have caused the death of the Fatherland. However almost as soon as Nova England joined activity was boosted by the pure number of Nova English attempting to achieve Nova English separation from Riponia. Yet in the end no such political wills were needed as Riponia died and Nova England became a De facto Nation. Over the past few years Nova England has followed a rather isolationist policy but since mid-2010 it has seen a large revolution in terms of activity and production. Which has caused it to seek out foreign nations in attempts to trade goods and services in order to fund and continue various developments.

The Government of Nova England has always been based around the British Model of a Constitutional Monarchy. However various differences were developed in the early stages of Nova England to create stark differences with those using the standard British system. Firstly was that the Legislature was undertaken by a elected body known as the Witan. In which practically all citizens that were either Exarches (Lords) or Elected Witan Members (WM) were able to discuss legislature and ultimately pass it through for authorisation by the Monarch. Nova England as of yet uses an un-codified constitution which gained its first most important piece from Exarch and Chief of the Witan Arcaviir in 2007. He was the first Chief of the Witan to develop a codified system for the passing of all legislation through the Witan and was hence known as the 'Rule of Law'.

Politics in Nova England are relatively cordial with very little Political rivalry developing between the few citizens of the Fatherland. Whilst the two only Ministries of Nova England are the Ministry of Interior Affairs and the Ministry of Defence. Both of these Ministries contain various Departments which are often the places in which many more specialised information is produced. Elections in Nova England are now somewhat simulated with a forum vote which counts as what is known as the Party Vote. Whilst a second 'Simulated' vote decides on which parties have been able to gain various consituencies. Citizens of the Fatherland are then encouraged to develop the various political parties in what ever way they wish as long as it fits with the basic outline set out for that party.

Geography

Mainland Nova England is located upon the Large Continent of Keltia. The terrain of the nation itself is somewhat varied, with lowlands on the mainland part of New Sussex. Where as Large once volcanic islands that make up the rest of New Sussex. In contrast there were the large mountainous chains of East Moorland and the far stretching forests of Southern Burwood. Both of which make up part of the evacuated territories. In the far south are the Britannic Territories, these islands are located around the Tropics of Micras.

Military

Nova England has actively been involved in Micronational Warfare since it got its first taste in the Circum Raynor War. This helped to lead to the militarised culture that has since become a major part of Nova England. The Fatherland defines itself on being able to command a well equipped and trained Military force that can be used with ease across Micras. The Nova English Armed Forces come under the control of the Ministry of Defence and they are split into three different arms. The first being the Army, then Navy and Finally the Airforce. In terms of Military power Nova England has been successful across the board in being able to face superior forces by using much more superior tactics and pure steadfastness. Nearly all Nova English Arms & Munitions are developed and produced at home by the State firm Nova English Weapons or N.E.W. Whilst further more specialised weaponry is sometimes imported from abroad or developed by civilian agencies such as NESA (Nova English Space Authority).

The Nova English Military Forces have occasionally been accused of being inhumane. This unknown rumour started when during the Nelegan War Nova English forces that had landed in Batavia had killed a couple of civilians. This had lead to an incident that lead to a large group of Nuns to travel to the area and practically halt military operations. Also another reason for this is the Military's extensive use of various chemical weapons again terrorist organisations as well as any rebels. Which in part had lead to the evacuations of late 2009 after rebels capture a large N.E.W chemical research station.
