The Mhazar Vegnese Film Festival was founded in 2025 in the city of Mhazar, with the ambition of becoming a benchmark for national and international cinema. The Golden Cormorant, the festival's highest award, was immediately recognized as a symbol of artistic excellence in the Vegnese scene. Alongside it, awards such as the Silver Cormorant, the Marmo Cunno Prizes, and the unique Mancuso Special contributed to shaping an identity that was both ironic and prestigious. Since its inception, the festival has been not only a film competition, but also a space for meeting, dialogue, and experimentation, welcoming emerging authors, experimental works, and themes with a strong civic impact. First Edition
The first edition of the Mhazar Vegnese Film Festival took place in 2025 and stood out for its spectacular setting. For its debut, the organization decided to consider Micras' entire film production to date, including experimental short films, independent works, and historical or institutional films. The initiative, conceived as a founding act of the national audiovisual scene, aimed to celebrate, enhance, and canonize the cinematic identity of Vegno.
