María Teresa de Valencia (born 12.IV.1690 AN) is a New Alexandrian civil servant who has served as Lord Steward of the Royal Household since 1735 AN. Born into a prominent family in Punta Santiago, she began her career in royal service as a lady-in-waiting to Queen Mother Abigail before being appointed Private Secretary to then-Crown Princess Adelaide in 1721 AN. Her fourteen-year tenure managing the future queen's household established her reputation for administrative excellence and diplomatic skill, particularly in coordinating between Natopian and New Alexandrian royal protocols.
Upon the accession of King Sinchi Roca II in 1735 AN, de Valencia was appointed Lord Steward of the Royal Household, becoming the first woman to hold this position in New Alexandrian history. Her tenure has been marked by significant modernization of royal household operations, including the implementation of digital records management systems and sustainable energy initiatives across royal properties. She played a crucial role during the Spring Crisis of 1739, ensuring the continuity of royal operations while coordinating between various royal residences during the crisis. De Valencia is particularly noted for her expertise in diplomatic protocol and has overseen numerous high-profile state visits and royal ceremonies, including the preparations for the upcoming coronation ceremonies.
