Specter Dart is an advanced loitering munition developed and produced by Leviathan Dynamics, based in Oportia. It was specifically designed for the Oportian Security Forces and saw its first use in 1733 AN, during Operation Sentinel Shield. The weapon is notable for its ability to loiter over the battlefield and engage targets with high precision, which it achieves through a combination of GPS and advanced visual recognition systems.
Design and Features
The Specter Dart measures 40 cm in length with a wingspan of 12 cm, making it compact and easy to deploy. It weighs approximately 2 kg, allowing it to be launched from both ground and aerial platforms. The munition is equipped with a high-explosive anti-tank (HEAT) warhead, designed to penetrate armored vehicles as well as fortified enemy positions. It features impact and proximity sensors that ensure detonation at the optimal time for maximum effect. The Dart is powered by a small, electric ducted fan, providing a speed of up to 200 km/h with a range of 15 km and an operational altitude ranging from 50 to 500 meters. This capability allows the Dart to be deployed covertly and remain undetected until the final approach to the target. Its stealth and accuracy are enhanced by its small radar cross-section and low noise emission.
Operational History
Specter Dart was unveiled to the public during the tense moments of Operation Sentinel Shield, where it played a crucial role in disabling key targets and disrupting enemy formations without prior detection. Its effectiveness in combat has not only proven its worth but also demonstrated Oportia’s developing technological capabilities in modern warfare.
