A venerable stalwart, derived from an ancient pattern.

The Hornet 84 mm Recoilless Rifle is a longstanding and ubiquitous unguided and handheld anti-tank weapon developed for Shireroth during the Sxiro-Jingdaoese Confrontation. As of 1719 AN, it remains in widespread use amongst current and former member-states of the Raspur Pact.

Replaced in the Benacian Union Defence Force by the M1700 82 mm Recoilless Rifle. The role of the Hornet as the primary anti-tank weapon for allied infantry is likely to be supplanted by man-portable guided missile systems by no later than 1730 AN.
