His Eminence, The Cardinal de Geneva, Jacques de Beaufort.
Jacques de Beaufort is a citizen of the Empire of the Alexandrians since September 4th 2005, and has been an active member of the Empire since.
He is the Cardinal of Geneva since October 3th 2005. His position of Cardinal makes him the personal advisor of the Emperor, and he is ready to serve him when His Imperial Majesty calls. The Cathedral of Geneva was renamed "Saint Louis Our Protector" after his great uncle Father Luis Etcheverry Boneo, who is currently in the process of beatification.
He was involved in the country's political life immediately after his arrival. He has been a member of the late Catholic Monarchist Party, and is currently a member of the Alexandrian Conservative Party.
Jacques de Beaufort took part in the making of the "Golden Triangle Reforms" that provided the Empire with much needed refomrs. The Golden Triangle Reforms were proposed by His Immperial Majesty Emperor Edgard II, His Imperial Highness Prince Enrique, and former citizen Miss Sofia de Aragon.
He was the first Minister of Economics of the Empire, and is the author of the "New Alexandrian Financial and Economic Law".
The Cardinal is deeply involved in the social and political life of his province of residence: The Archduchy of Asunción. Archduke Augusto Benavides of Asunción and the Cardinal are good friends. In late December 2005 they were both involved in an agitated argument with the former leader of the late Alexandrian Pride Party, Miss Fabiola Douay, which lead to her resignation once the provincial conflict turned national, even though this was not what the Archduke or the Cardinal wanted.
Cardinal de Beaufort was the first is now serving his second mandate as a member of the Imperial Parliament. He won his seat by default in the last Parliamentary elections of January 2006. And is currently running for the possition of Speaker of the Empire, and has received and endorsement from the Minister of Interior Lord Jean Michel Leclerc des Montagnes.
