The National Health Institute is a government department within the Ministry of Internal Affairs with the responsibility for health and social care within Nova England.

As part of its remit the NHI maintains a number of healthcare facilities throughout Nova England providing basic social and medical services free of charge. The department is primarily funded through an apportion of income tax, private services and charitable donations. In addition to providing these services and creating guidelines and polices for private providers the department is also responsible for identifying potential pandemics and creating new policies to counter them.
