All acts of the Congress must be signed by the President, unless he utilises his right of veto. However, the Congress can override a presidential veto by a two-thirds majority vote. Since the Congress took office in 1703, it has been dominated by the party of President Vinfetto, [[Partito per la Repubblica]].
