The Order of As-Saif (Order of the Sword) is an order of distinction of Kurum Ash-Sharqia. It was established in 1702 AN after the birth of prince Saif Ad-Din ibn Salah Ad-Din Al-Lusirni, the first son of sultan Salah Ad-Din.

The order is divided into four degrees:

  • 1st class, Grand Cordon, awarded to royal family members, foreign heads-of-state and high dignitaries
  • 2nd class, Grand Officer, awarded to important statesmen with a long service record or a particular merit for the Sultanate
  • 3rd class, Officer, awarded to citizens and foreigners for merits for the Sultanate
  • 4th class, Knight or Dame, awarded to citizens and foreigners for merits for the Sultanate, prominent businessmen and cultural figures.

Membership

Membership is awarded by the Sultan, with approval of the Grand Vizier.
