Biel de Tryphene is an Antican Alduro-Wechuan politician. Since 1690 AN, he has served as Mayor of Oye.
Biography
Born on 20.XII.1635 AN in Argyll, Suðreyjar, during the Storish Occupation under the legal name of Bilfrið Triufen (as per Storification name laws), much of Biel's professional career was in middle management for Støjlarm Gruvor Hlutafélag, a resource extraction company employed by the Storish government to strip-mine the Isles.
By his early 40s, Biel had been promoted into the office of Geralt Berigsson, Chief of Operations for Støjlarm Gruvor Hlutafélag. During his time under Berigsson, Biel was able to take full measure of the environmental degradation taking place on the Isles. Following this revelation, Biel quit the industry and travelled abroad.
In Kezan, he reconnected with the House of Tryphene and had his patrician status legally confirmed. In Alduria, he joined an Isles environmental advocacy group, Islands Flourishing, which demanded international pressure on Stormark for the deteriorating environmental conditions in Suðreyjar. Leaving his family in Alduria for their safety, Biel returned to the Isles in 1682 AN, around the same time in which Islands Flourishing joined other groups to form a unified front against Storish rule.
Politics
Following the end of Storish Occupation in 1685 AN, Islands Flourishing restructured itself into the Green List of the Isles (Mt. Lista Verde de las Islas) and has generally approved of Alduro-Wechuan intervention to rehabilitate the islands. Since 1686 AN, Biel de Tryphene has served on the Senate of Oye. In 1690 AN, Biel ascended to the mayoralty.
Family
Biel met his wife, Sigrið Pardal, through her brother, Sigtrygg Pardal. Biel and Sigtrygg were best friends at university. During the strife near the end of the Storish Occupation of the Isles, Sigtrygg sided with the occupying force, splitting the friendship and his family. Sigtrygg was never identified among the dead.
The couple's first child, Guðrøð, was born in 1674, shortly after Biel secured a promotion into Støjlarm Gruvor Hlutafélag's central office in Oje. When Guðrøð was two years old, the family left Suðreyjar behind.
When it came time for his second son's birth, in 1679 AN, the couple initially thought of the name Luðvig, which would have met the legal requirements for approved names under Storish rule. Instead, they decided that the entire family would adopt Martino names.
Bilfrið Triufen became Biel de Tryphene, Sigrið became Selena, Guðrøð became Gonzal, and their newborn became Luis.
During the last years of the Storish Occupation, Biel returned to the Isles without his family for their protection, only sending for them in 1686 AN, once conditions restabilized.
