The Ransenari general election of 1678 AN was the first general election held under the first Constitution of Ransenar. It was held over the course of three days, from 13.V.1678 to 15.V.1678. The election was carried out by an independent national government agency called the National Electoral Commission (NEC). Results were processed and finalized by the evening of 15.V.1678. The election was marred by challenges in the country's rural areas. Facing scandal with reports of poor access to voting places in rural areas, the NEC lengthened the election by two days. This contributed greatly to securing the highest national turnout to date of any Ransenari election with 87% of registered voters.
The result of the election was a landslide victory for the incumbent Imperial Democratic Party and its leader, Lord Chief Steward Sean O’Callaghan. The IDP won 210 seats out of 317 in the Ransenari Congress.
