The title Lord in Shirekeep or Lady in Shirekeep is the lowest form of titled nobility in Shireroth, ranking below viscounts and barons, but above other (untitled) nobles. It is a life peerage, meaning it cannot be inherited. Unique among all noble titles in Shireroth, holding the title Lord/Lady in Shirekeep excempts the holder and the holder's household from all Shirerithian taxes if resident in Shirekeep. A further privilege is the addition of the definite article before Lord or Lady as title, similar to other titled nobles' privilege.

A non-titled noble named John Smith would be titled "Lord John Smith", but a Lord in Shirekeep of the same name would be titled "The Lord John Smith".
