History
The first settlement in the area was created in 1819 on the north side of the Nivaya, and it was called Noltsak. Peace City, Clementsskad's first name, was founded in 1826. The main economic activity in those early days was agriculture, and transportation of furs and timber by river to Port Isherwood.
