THIS IS A PROPOSAL. I MIGHT NOT END UP DOING THIS
The 2020 Virus FLO outbreak is an ongoing epidemic involving Virus FLO, a new mutation of the bioweapon Virus Y, which ravaged the southern Florian city of Port Farrar during the Verionian-Raspur War. The outbreak was first identified in TBD, Florian Republic in TBD 2020. As of TBD 2020, more than TBD of Virus FLO have been reported in TBD countries and territories, resulting in more than TBD than TBD deaths and zero recoveries.
The virus is typically spread during close contact and via respiratory droplets produced when people cough or sneeze. The disease is not considered airborne despite respiratory droplets occasionally being produced. It also spreads when one touches a contaminated surface and then their face. It is most contagious when people are symptomatic, and the virus can spread before symptoms appear. The time between exposure and symptom onset is typically around two days but may range from two to fourteen days. Common symptoms include fever, insomnia, cough, anaemia and vomiting. Complications may include pneumonia, acute respiratory distress syndrome and in a worst-case scenario, total organ failure of the lungs and stomach. There is no known vaccine or specific antiviral treatment. Primary treatment of the virus is symptomatic and supportive therapy. Recommended preventive measures include hand washing, covering the mouth when coughing, maintaining distance from other people, and monitoring and self-isolation for people who suspect they are infected.
Efforts to prevent the virus from spreading have yet to start but travel restrictions, quarantines, curfews, event postponements and cancellations as well as facility closures are likely.
The epidemic has led to national socioeconomic disruption, the postponement or cancellation of sporting, religious, and cultural events, and widespread fears of supply shortages which have spurred panic buying. Misinformation and conspiracy theories about the virus have spread online.
