In addition, VoA also operates it's own Tweeter account, at the handle @VoiceOfAerla. A minor scandal occurred when the handle @VoisOvAyrle (the Commonspeak spelling of VoA) was being used as a troll account, broadcasting fake and absurd headlines in order to get a rise out of the Aerlan public. VoA has tried to take down (and at one point try and buy) the handle, but all attempts have failed. Online rumors circulated that the owner of the handle, a chicken farmer from Plymouth Parish named George Saminson, received numerous visits from the State Security Directorate. Saminson has stated publicly that these rumors are false, and that he operates the account as a harmless joke.
