The Federal Gendarmerie of Nouvelle Alexandrie (FGNA) is the national law enforcement agency of the Federation of Nouvelle Alexandrie. Established under the National Police Act, 1699, the Federal Gendarmerie is responsible for maintaining public order and safety, preventing and investigating crimes, and protecting the rights and freedoms of citizens in Nouvelle Alexandrie.

Organization

The Federal Gendarmerie is headed by a Commissioner General, who is appointed by the President of the Government, on the advice and consent of the Secretary of the Interior and the Federal Police Committee. The Commissioner General serves a two-year term and cannot be reappointed. The Deputy Commissioner General, appointed as the chief superintendent general, assists the Commissioner General.

The sub-structures of the Federal Gendarmerie consist of bureaus or departments and divisions, which are prescribed by Royal Decree or Order of the Secretary of Interior. Notably, there must always be a Counter-terrorism Bureau or Department, a Bureau or Department on International Cooperation, a Counterespionage Bureau or Department, and a Bureau or Department of Professional Integrity.
