The Straits of Artsessdun

The Straits of Artsessdun are a set of straits controlling the entrance to the Clear Sea located in northeastern Apollonia.

In ages past ships would have to sail an especially long and treacherous route around the northern tip of Apollonia. This was alleviated with the construction of the Nurthaven and Antruusbuurg Canal. The straits were named for the Crandish settlement of Artsessdun on the northern tip of the Jääland Peninsula. Currently, as of 1721 AN, Meckelnburgh (as the Grand Duchy of Iselande) and Lac Glacei hold territory on either side of the Straits.
