For centuries, religiously conservative governments held sway over the lands of current day Aerla, influencing societal views on sexual orientation and identity. It was the job of the new Aerlan government to create laws in order to insure the rights for LGBT citizens.

Under the Aerlan constitution, Article 3.2 states:
