The Subdivisions of Aerla consist of 31 municipalities, 2 of which being special urban districts for Noursala and Agalore. All municipalities are named after their center of administration. These municipalities are further split into parishes, which are used mostly for electoral and taxation purposes (except in the case for Ranentsi regions, whose autonomous government does not follow the parish system, and elections and taxations are done on the municipal level). In Hatayyian speaking regions, the parishes are known as 'Abrashia (أبرشية).
In 1724 AN the Municipal Reform Act was passed in the National Assembly. Among bureaucratic shuffling of tax collecting, it created the two new Municipalities of Newark and Azula from the Six Parishes. The act combined the Municipalities of Yasid, Shanshur, and Jabal-al-Adif' into one singular municipality, known as Hatay. It also abolished the Parish of South Agalore with it being merging into the Parish of Nalsburg.
