The Highpass Defence Force is the military organisation tasked with defending Highpass from internal and external threats. The Highpass Defence Force consists of the Highpass Army, the Highpass Air Force and the Steikvocht, a militarised gendarmerie. The Army and Air Force were formed in 1703, while the Steikvocht traces its roots back to Shirerithian times.

Since the reincorporation of Highpass into Shireroth in 1715 AN, the Highpass Defence Force is effectively the local defence force of the county-palatine.
