The People's Armed Services Reorganisation Plan is a decision by the Defence Committee passed in 1705 AN to reorganise the People's Armed Services. Following the Sanaman Civil War, the military was partially reorganised, especially focusing on the People's Defence Force. However, this was by 1705 deemed insufficient to meet the needs of the country, with regards to national security and efficiency. The plan provided for a reduced territorial defence force, with integrated logistics and support, and a simpler organisation scheme overall along more traditional lines. The plan also confirmed that the armed services would be based on conscription, with combat units in peacetime conducting training, with reservists manning the territorial defence force. For the People's Navy, the plan confirmed the realignment towards national defence, reducing or outright eliminating more offensive systems. The People's Coast Guard was reorganised into a law enforcement role in peacetime, and a naval support and littoral defence force in war. It would also acquire custom designed ships, instead of relying on "hand-me-downs" from the Navy. The People's Air Force finally would focus on national defence, airspace surveillance and a partial transition to the F-17 Axarana, while retaining the F-9 Ashavan II. The F-9 Banshee would be partly transferred to reserve and partly decommissioned, while older airframes would be transferred to partners.
