Statue of Barnaby

The Statue of Barnaby is a a colossal sculpture overlooking the Strait of Barbary in Naval. The statue, which is 32 meters high, has been made out of copper and has a glowing football under its left arm. It was erected in 1686 following the acceptance of a claim with the MCS, after which the good news was given by councillor Barnaby of Senya. The statue was designed by the famous Barbarian artist Dagny Kooglander and cast by the National Foundry in Basella.

Local reception

The statue is an important hallmark of Naval and often depicted on postcards and the obligatory "I <3 Naval" stickers sold to tourists. Many inhabitants of Naval are convinced that a statue this beautiful has to be of a god, and worship services are held at the feet of the statue.

Recovery and transportation to Senya

Following the fall of the Barbary state, worries came of the statue being destroyed by the tribes of the Green. The statue, which had become a symbol of Senya's positive international contributions in the Senyan popular consciousness, was rescued and transported to Senya. Several Senyan navy vessels arrived in Naval with humanitarian aid for the locals, as well as a cargo ship, on which the statue was laid. The locals expressed their sorrow for the statue's relocation, but were grateful for the Senyan aid. Additionally, some selected individuals were allowed to board the cargo ship to come to Senya as refugees. The home voyage took approximately a month, with a stop in Yuanbeicheng in Jingdao, where the refugees were taken to the railway station and boarded trains to Senya under the supervision of the Jingdaoese authorities. Meanwhile, the Senyan navy vessels and subsequently the vessel carrying the statue rounded the Northern shores of Apollonia back to Senya, where it was taken to Port Nelson, where it will be held until its new location is decided.
