In addition, the country also has small territorial claims within The United States (where the nation's permanent population reside) although this is mostly just symbolic and on [[Micras]]. The nation was created originally as a political experiment, designed to prove that a country's government could be successfully ran by young adults and teenagers, although this later evolved into a serious "new nation project" once support for formal Phoklandian independence increased.

| The Tsardom of Phokland has existed in some capacity (excluding a four year hiatus) since 2007. During this time, the country has gone through five different names (and governmental structures).

| ==Pre-Phoklandian History==
| |
| The idea of Phokland was first conceived by Charles Ross in early 2007 as a way to establish an absolute monarchical kingdom in the playground of his primary school in Gilbert, Arizona. The nation officially came into existence at noon on the 10th of February 2007. The new nation was given the name of the Kingdom of Rosston and Charles Ross was given the title of King Charles I. The initial land claim of the kingdom was made up of the sandbox and play structure of the playground. Eventually however, other territories were added to the nation. These areas included King Charles' bedroom and the local swimming pool (though the claims to these territories were disputed). In addition, many of the King's friends also joined the nation as subjects during this time. Though originally fictional in nature, the Kingdom of Rosston was able to get minor recognition from the school and (to an even lesser extent) the neighborhood it resided in.

| The nation continued in this capacity until late 2013 when it was decided by King Charles I that the nation lacked the motivation necessary to continue it's existence. Therefore on the evening of the 11th of December 2013, The Kingdom of Rosston (as a nation) was dissolved and King Charles I indefinitely suspended his role as monarch.

| ==Restoration==

| Following four years of inactivity, Rosston's original founder Charles Ross and his friend Duke Brock Lang sought to restore the Kingdom. However, unlike it's previous (fictional) form the new nation was designed to act as as a political experiment. This experiment would be to prove that young adults (e.g. older teenagers) were capable of running a government successfully. The idea was created in response to the two founders becoming angry at their home macronation's lack of respect towards younger people and it's lack of governmental representation for teenagers and young adults.

| ==Initial Independence==

| On the evening of 13 December 2017, Tsar Charles I (then Prime Minister) and Duke Brock Lang (then Minister of Defense) ratified the first Phoklandian Declaration of Independence, thus re-establishing the Kingdom of Rosston. However, it was decided soon after independence that the nation would change it's name to Phokland and (for a short time) not have a monarchy. Thus re-establishing the country as a Democratic Republic.

| ==People's Republic of Phokland==

| From 13 December 2017 until 27 April 2018, Phokland functioned as a Democratic Republic, with Charles Ross serving as the nation's first Prime Minister. During this time, the country saw the establishment of it's first governing body, The Phoklandian Emergency Senate as well as the acquisition of Phokland's first official area of territory as the result of a land purchase by Prime Minister Ross. This time period also saw the beginning Phoklad's relationship with the now defunct Empire of Lanzantonia.

| ==Phoklandian Unification==

| Between the 26th and 27th of April, 2018 the then People's Republic of Phokland suffered a national crisis when the former Defense Minister, Duke Brock Lang resigned from his position and (for the most part) left the nation. This event left Prime Minister Ross as the only active citizen of the country. Due to this, it was decided that the Prime Minister would re-establish his status as a monarch in the form of a Prince and that the nation would be re-established as a Principality.

| Hours after this decision, Duke Brock Lang changed his mind about leaving the country and was shortly thereafter appointed to the role of Prime Minister, a position that he occupied until he was voted out of office during the 2018 elections replacing him with the Chairman of the Phokland First Party, Grand Duke Sir James Ellis.

| ==Reign of Prince Charles I==
| |
| Following the Phoklandian Unification, Prime Minister Charles Ross was declared Monarch of the now Principality of Phokland. Under this new government, the nation saw a rise in population growing from two people in April of 2018 to thirty three by October of that same year. The new government also formalized the military of Phokland and entered into diplomatic relations with other states such as the Republic of Bonumland and the Principality of New Eiffel.

| ==Domanglian Annexation==

| On 11 November 2018, Phokland was annexed by the Principality of Domanglia. This annexation was the result of a lack of resources that led to the complete collapse of Phokland's economy and a need for a more stable ruling government. Domanglian annexation was seen as the best option for fixing this and Phokland was given to them. However, among the conditions of this annexation were the abilities for Phokland to self govern themselves through a new local government and for the Monarch of Phokland, Prince Charles I to act as Viceroy of the new state while retaining the title of Prince.

| Following the dissolution of the Principality of Domanglia on 29 January 2019, Phokland once again gained it's independence being reorganized into a Tsardom with the previous monarch Charles I being crowned as Tsar.

| Following this, the nation experienced rapid growth both in population, land and recognition. Phokland quickly began forming diplomatic relations with several states and expanded it's territorial size, claiming two separate areas of land within the continent of Antarctica. These areas being the Lordship of Arcelia and the Territory of Northarctica (though these claims are still disputed). In addition, Phokland also introduced several new acts of legislation with the most influential one being the Anti Discrimination Act.

| Phokland also introduced a new currency known as Phoklandian Imperial Dollars or Imperial Dollars for short. This currency piggybacked directly off of the United State's currency (USD).

| =Government=

| The Tsardom of Phokland is a Tsarist Autocracy (also known as an Absolute Monarchy), with a Tsar as head of the state and government . The job of the monarch, is to create and administer laws for the Tsardom as well as represent the nation in foreign affairs. Contrary to this, the nation also has a Prime Minister who has the task of advising the Tsar on non-governmental affairs and is given complete control over appointing new ministers. In addition, The Prime Minister is also responsible for managing the country's various ministers (many of whom are themselves members of the Phoklandian Aristocracy) and relaying their concerns and requests to the Tsar.
