Regional Governor of South Lyrica
The Regional Governor of South Lyrica is the chief executive of the Region of South Lyrica within the Federation of Nouvelle Alexandrie. The Governor is responsible for the administration of regional government, implementation of laws passed by the Senate of South Lyrica, and representation of South Lyrican interests within the federal system. The office was established upon South Lyrica's admission to the Federation in 1687 AN. The Governor is elected by popular vote to a five-year term and may seek re-election. With approximately 34.5 million inhabitants, South Lyrica is among the more populous Regions in the Federation and holds significant economic importance due to its agricultural sector, the Port of Lausanne, and a growing technology corridor that has attracted substantial semiconductor manufacturing investment.
The current Regional Governor is Marguerite Fontaine of the Democratic Socialist Party. Fontaine won the 1749 gubernatorial election with 60.91% of the vote despite having no prior experience in elected office, running on a platform of agricultural reform, environmental protection, and rural economic revitalization.
