The Florian Super League is the highest and only fully professional rugby league competition in the Florian Republic. It was formed in 2017 after the creation of the country. It is contested by 16 teams but the organisers plan to expand it to 20 teams by the end of 2020.
History
The Florian Super League was formed in 2017 after the popular demand to create to create a professional competition for the sport. Rugby League is the National Sport of the country and when the country expands there is always a huge demand for new teams professional or semi-professional.
Proposed expansion clubs
On November 21st, 2017, the Florian Super League committee openly addressed proposals for two clubs to be entered into the league. Entry will be in the form of a license. Proposed expansion teams are listed below, with the date of application and proposed stadiums.

Applicant details
Birmingham Titans
On the 22nd November 2017. Mining Company, Hook Solutions announced plans to create and own a professional rugby league team playing in the Florian Super League by 2019. Brandon Hayes, the CEO has put 300 million Florian Pounds aside for the project and on the same day, the company formally applied. Birmingham was chosen as the location of the club as it was a new part of the country and that it is in a Rugby Union heartland.
Blyth Storm
In one of the largest cities in the country and the only one with a port. It came as a shock that they were no professional rugby league team in Blyth. It came as a shock when the CEO of Monster Interactive, Tyler Lowe, an eccentric but huge fan of rugby league announced plans that he would invest 500 million Florian pounds into a new rugby league club and stadium in the city. He announced that if the team started playing in the Florian Super League, they would play their first matches at the local Rugby Union stadium before moving into their brand new stadium. Monster Interactive conducted a poll which was unanimously supported.
Coldley Panthers
The council of the small city, Coldley formally applied to the Florian Super League after a desire of a rugby league club to be located there. A poll was launched on the council website and 70% voted in favour. It was a surprise as Coldley are a rugby Union heartland. As there are insufficient stadia in Coldley the existing James Park will be expanded.
The Wolfpack
In 2017, after winning the Florian League One. The Wolfpack openly proposed to be in the Florian Super League by 2019. Tom Perez has already prepared for entry despite not even being in the league. On the 22nd November 2017, after applications opened. On the same day, Oldhaven City Council approved support for the project.
Votes
On the 29th November 2017. The Florian Super League members voted on which new teams would be awarded a license to compete in the competition.Birmingham Titans and Blyth Storm were accepted a license. On the same night, they voted to revoke the license of Northcliff Broncos and give The Wolfpack a license instead. The teams not accepted were given places in the Florian Second tier competitions until application s reopened. Northcliff Broncos will be the replacement of The Wolfpack for the 2019 Florian Super Premiership season. All applications were looked at separately and were then voted on. There was a two-round system.
