The University of Lausanne was established in 1688 AN after the founding of the Region of South Lyrica in 1687 AN. The university started with the existing assets and endowments of past Storish and Alexandrian educational institutions existing at the time as part of the reorganization and settlement of South Lyrica. Initially founded as a small public college, over the years the university was able to absorb and integrate former Storish and Alexandrian educational institutions after a rigorous reorganization that saw a strong "Devanicization" policy that favored highlighting its Alexandrian legacy. The university slowly expanded its offerings, adding faculties such as law, medicine, and humanities. Today, the University of Lausanne is recognized as a leading institution for higher education and research in Nouvelle Alexandrie.
