The USSO Standard Issue Rifle is a weapon under development by several USSO states. It is expected to fire standard USSO 8mm cartridges. Development of the rifle took place in secret from 1686 onward after the initial presentation of the 8mm cartridges. A prototype of the first version of the rifle, called the USSO SIR 89 was presented to USSO member states in VI.1689 in Halfquart, Barbary. The SIR'89 was a bullpup assault rifle, capable to be fired after submersion in one meter water and an effective range of 450 Jingdaoese ric. After the design received its preliminary approval by the member states, an order was sent to HQ-Metall to produce a first batch of 100 rifles, to be distributed among the member states for field tests.

Since the dissolution of the USSO, the rifles developed for the programme have become sought after items for collectors.
