The Pit is a location on the island of Murder where the souls of evil men are shackled into a dark pit while they await for their annihilation. The pit is guarded by crows, which sometimes feast on the souls as well, making the stay in the pit rather unpleasant. The souls in the Pit are of those who have committed crimes against women and children during their lives. On their way to the Underworld they have been stopped by the Magenta crows, upon request by the witches of Murder, often following pleas from the abused. Crimes that have been committed by the evil men are, amongst others, murder of women and children, sexual and physical abuse, abandonment of LGBT children and the ritual sacrifice of women or children. Shackling these men into the dark pit prevents them from having an undeserved place of rest in the afterlife. The souls are kept in the Pit for some period, to add to their anguish, and then converted into magical energy, in a process that completely annihilates the soul.
