Sneferu Azulpolassar

Born in 1745 AN, Sneferu Azulpolassar is the son of Sargon Azulpolasar II, and grandson of Sargon Azulpolassar, Praetor of the Hexarchy (r. 1730-1744). On his mother's side, Sneferu is the son of Nefertari Sedjet, and therefore also the grandson of Sozer VII, Pschent of Karnak (r. 1720-1755) -- and the nephew of the new Pschent, Shoshenq IV.

The meaning of his name is, "He is perfected." It was chosen by his father to honor his Karnaki mother's heritage, and in response to the union of the founding dynasty of The Hexarchy and the ancient House of Karnak, rulers of their namesake country. Sneferu, being the direct descendant of Sargon Azulpolassar, is heir-presumptive to Naram-Sin, Praetor of the Hexarchy. As such, he is also a member of the Praetorian family of the Hexarchy, founded c. 1655 AN and also responsible for the country's eventual founding and unification.
