The Royal Weisenburger Life Guard Regiment (Cibolan Saxon: Königliche Weisenburger Leib-Regiment) is an armored cavalry unit that serves as the bodyguard unit for the Kaisers of the United Principalities.
History
Initially consisting of a group of 14 loyal men who served as Ludwig von Heida-Weisse's bodyguards in the early years of the UPC, the first bodyguard unit raised for the Kaiser's household was the 1st Cavalry Guard Battalion in early 1725 AN. Soon after, several new battalions were raised which included an armored battalion and a reconnaissance company.
In mid-1725 AN, during a ceremony in the gardens of the Imperial Palace in Weisenburg, the regiment was given the title of "Royal Weisenburger Life Guard Regiment" and took an oath to Ludwig I. In 1733 AN, the Regiment was also charged with providing guards to the Imperial Senate.
