Political clubs and pressure groups of the Wechua Nation
This is a list of political clubs and pressure groups in the Wechua Nation. These pressure groups, based on their relationship with Wechua policymakers, can be divided into insider groups, who have a high degree of involvement and influence and outsider groups, who have little or no direct involvement or influence.
Political Parties
Until 1673 AN, political parties and partisan elections were forbidden in the Wechua Nation by tradition. Political factions and groups gathered into clubs or unions, avoiding the label of "political party". While it was a custom and a legal right for Wechua citizens to gather into associations and groups, by law, all offices were non-partisan as everyone was required to swear allegiance to the Sapa Wechua and advance his interests alone. This was a point of contention during the liberalizing reforms after the Wechua Spring, where non-partisan offices remained but political groups earned the right to campaign and fundraise for political candidates.
After the collapse of the first Wechua Kingdom and the Restoration, the Sapa Wechua wished to signal to his people, at the behest of the new Inkap Rantin Vicaquirao Alvarez, that he believed in further liberalization, democratization, and reform of the country and opened up official recognition of political parties and clubs in the Wechua Nation. He also removed the non-partisan status of many political offices, opting to retain strict non-partisanship in the civil service, bureaucratic offices, and other government agencies where it was deemed impartial and knowledgeable experts were needed rather than politicians. Due to the slow acknowledgment of these political groups, political parties in the Wechua Nation are still commonly referred to as "clubs" or "unions".
