Orrin Kronous is the current head of government of the Technocracy of Universalis. Born is Aristarchus in 1679, he is a direct descendant of Orion I, the first Chairman of the Science Governing Board. Educated at Universal institutions, he holds a PhD in nanotechnology and environmental engineering. Before being elected to the SGB he worked as a researcher at the Transastra Institute of Science developing nanite-based applications. He rose to prominence as a proponent of the Techno Humanist Party, advocating for Universalis to re-assert its dominance as the leading scientific nation on Micras, decrying the ongoing strife in the world as a distraction to man's greater goal of attaining the stars. He was elected Chairman of Universalis in 1727.
