Oportian Border Free Fire Zones were military exclusion areas established by the National Salvation Council on 16.XIII.1744 AN[1] extending 5 kilometers inside Oportia's international borders. The zones were created following the Assault on Naya, which prompted the immediate suspension of all mining operations, including Alexandrium extraction, in border regions and the evacuation of equipment further inland. Under the policy, Oportian Security Forces were authorized to engage any unauthorized personnel within the designated areas without warning, effectively creating a militarized buffer zone around the country's perimeter. The establishment of the zones reflected the National Salvation Council's increasingly defensive posture and marked a significant escalation in border security measures during the period of military rule that began with the 1744 Oportian coup d'état.
