Operation Bronzed Shore
Operation Bronzed Shore was a military operation conducted by Banner Group East led by the Republic of Matamoros. The operation lasted from 23.V.1743 to 1.VI.1743 AN and the stated objective[1] was to cement Matamorano government control over the cities of Hidalgo and Allende.
23.V.1743
In the early hours of the day, the 1st and 2nd Regiments of the 25th Imperial Marines deployed from the port at Blore Heath to Hidalgo; meanwhile, the 3rd Regiment sailed through the Strait of Haifa towards Allende. Light resistance was reported in Hidalgo, with eight Imperial casualties mostly caused by attacks from civilians with improvised weapons. Four Marines were killed and three wounded in an ambush by Confederate fighters on the outskirts of Allende.
24.V.1743
Resistance in and around Allende continued, causing 17 further casualties among Imperial forces. Hidalgo, however, was declared pacified and the 1st Regiment began to sweep the coast west of the city. By the end of the day they had linked up with the 3rd Regiment in Allende to address the Confederate holdouts there.
1.VI.1743
The Imperial regiments in Allende sent detachments to secure the northern mines and begin a downward sweep into Matamoros' interior. After a firefight between the Marines and local warlords (causing two Imperial and 12 warlord casualties), they captured the mines and were able to advance southward. By the end of the day, the commanding officer of Banner Group East declared the operation a success.
