Nidaros House Contract

WE, THE CHILDREN OF NIDAROS, organized in the Houses of NIDAROS-VOLSDAME and HESTHJEM, finding ourselves to be of the same lineage, hereby unite our houses in one House named NIDAROS.

Accordingly, it is most solemnly decided in Contract, by all of us of the united House of Nidaros:

ON THIS CONTRACT

1. That this Contract binds the members of the Houses of Nidaros-Volsdame and Hesthjem.

2. That the first members of the united House, hereby established, are as inscribed in the first section of the Appendix, the Calendar.

3. That this Contract can only be amended by a vote of three fourths' majority of the Assembly.

ON THE NAME OF THE UNITED HOUSE

1. That the English name of the House is Nidaros.

2. That the name and titles of the House are translated to other languages in accordance with the second section of the Appendix.

ON THE BRANCHES OF THE HOUSE

1. That the two Houses uniting into one shall be kept as two distinct but equal branches of the united House.

2. That the two branches of the House are Volsdame (previously Nidaros-Volsdame) and Riskai (previously Hesthjem).

3. That the two branches make up rules for their own administration in accordance with the spirit of this Contract.

ON MEMBERSHIP OF THE HOUSE

1. That the membership of the House consists of those individuals inscribed in the first section of the Appendix ("Calendar"), provided that any member is automatically removed from the Calendar upon death and upon his or her request, provided further that any new member admitted to the House shall be inscribed in the Calendar.

2. That in order for any non-member of the House to be admitted to the House, he or she shall first seek recognition from a branch, be admitted to that branch and then admitted to the House, provided that final admittance to the House is effected by the Steward.

3. That any member's recognized children shall automatically be members of the House and of the Branch of their parent(s).

4. That spouses of members may be declaration be admitted to the House in the same branch as the member with whom he or she is married.

5. That it is permissible for a member to seek recognition of membership in both branches.

ON THE STEWARD

1. That the chief decision-maker of this House is the Steward, provided that this title confers no immunity on him or her.

2. That the Steward is assisted by the Ombudsman, provided that both Steward and Ombudman are elected by the House Assembly.

3. That the powers of the Steward include, aside from the previously established ones, presiding over the Assembly, attesting to the decisions of the Assembly, promulgating them and acting on them, provided that the Ombudsman acts in vice of the Steward should the Steward so be unavailable.

ON THE ASSEMBLY

1. That the Patrician members of the House shall meet in Assembly when the need arises to decide on any competence given it by Law.

2. That any decision of the Assembly shall be known as by-law.

3. That in the event both Steward and Ombudsman are unavailable, the Assembly shall invite a non-member of the House from among the Wardens of the High Council to preside over the Assembly, provided that the High Council has final say over whom to send.

4. That the Assembly elects Steward and Ombudsman, provided that both Steward and Ombudsman are elected in distinct elections, provided further that to be elected, a majority of the Assembly must vote in favour of the candidate in question.

5. That in dire circumstances, it is permissible for the Assembly, by a vote of exceeding a majority of three fourths of the votes, expel a member from the House, provided always that the Assembly may provide for conditions of readmittance.

6. That any disagreements under the Contract between members of the House shall be brought to the Assembly for arbitration, provided that any legal disagreement be brought to appropriate court of law.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, we, members of Nidaros-Volsdame and of Hesthjem affix our signatures and we declare most solemnly that upon the signatures of all of us, the Houses of Nidaros-Volsdame and Hesthjem no longer be distinct, but united in one House:
