The New National Curriculum, officially known as the Programa para el Desarrollo Integral y Competencias para el Futuro (Martino: Program for Development and Skills for the Future), abbreviated to PDIC, is the national curriculum framework for the Federation of Nouvelle Alexandrie. Subject: National Curriculum for the Federation of Nouvelle Alexandrie

By the authority vested in me by the Constitution of the Federation of Nouvelle Alexandrie, I hereby order the following:

1. National Curriculum Framework

The Department of Education, Culture and Sports (DECS) shall implement a national curriculum framework (NCF) applicable to all primary and secondary schools within the Federation. The detailed NCF is attached as Annex A to this order.

2. Curriculum Content

The NCF outlines core subjects, minimum-level subjects, and future skills essential for all students. These include:

3. Implementation and Compliance

  • Standardized Testing: DECS shall develop and administer national assessments aligned with the NCF to measure student achievement and identify areas for improvement.
  • Teacher Training: DECS will provide professional development programs to equip educators with the skills to deliver the NCF effectively. This includes training on pedagogy, assessment practices, and integrating 21st-century skills.
  • Learning Resources: DECS will establish and maintain a repository of high-quality, culturally diverse learning materials aligned with the NCF. These materials will be available to all schools free of charge.
  • School Autonomy: Schools may adapt the NCF to address their local contexts and community needs, with prior approval by DECS.

4. Monitoring and Reporting

  • DECS will regularly monitor the implementation of the NCF by schools and provide support where needed.
  • Schools will be required to submit annual reports to DECS on their curriculum implementation and student progress.
  • DECS will publish a biennial report on the national curriculum's effectiveness.

  • Comprehensive Sexual Education (Age-Appropriate): Provides accurate information about sexual health, development, and relationships, promoting respect, positive choices, and responsible decision-making.

Assessment and Evaluation

  • Standardized Testing: National assessments aligned with the NCF will be developed and administered by DECS to measure student achievement in core subjects and identify areas for improvement.

Policy Program

The New Curriculum was followed up by a series of governmental programs that were meant to supplement the implementation of the new policy. These included teacher development, materials development, assessments, and technology programs.

Teacher Professional Development Initiative

The Profesorado Avanzado para la Nuevo Currículum (Alexandrian: Advanced Professiorate for the New Curriculum) is the program that is meant to provide professional training to teachers to enhance their capacity to deliver the PDIC effectively. It was funded with €1 billion for three years. Strategies included:

  • Mandatory intensive training for all teachers on PDIC principles, methodologies, and assessment.
  • Development of specialized training modules for specific subject areas (e.g., STEM, humanities).

It was funded with €300 million for three years:

  • Implementation of a data management system to track student performance and identify areas for improvement.

Specific actions included:

  • Development of curriculum modules focused on civic participation, environmental sustainability, and global citizenship.
  • Partnerships with community organizations to provide experiential learning opportunities.

(Alexandrian: Learn Now!), abbreviated to AY and popularly nicknamed as simply Ya!, is a national educational app developed by the Department of Education - specifically the Office of Educational Technology - for use by teachers, students, parents, and community organizations. It is a comprehensive educational platform designed specifically to support the implementation of the PDIC curriculum. It facilitates communication, collaboration, and personalized learning. It provides strict privacy and security features such as data protection and encryption, role-based access, regular security audits, and transparent privacy policy statements. It is fully accessible to students with disabilities, including through text-to-speech features and sign-language videos. It has numerous modules, with shared features between types of users, as well as specific role-based modules.

For students, this includes:

  • A Learning Center, known as Mi Aula Virtual (Alexandrian: My Virtual Classroom), with access to curriculum materials, interactive lessons, quizzes, and assignments.
    • This includes an Attendance Tracker and Homework Management.
  • A Personalized Learning Path, known as Ruta de Éxito (Alexandrian: Success Path), with tailored recommendations based on student performances and learning styles. It is also equipped with adaptive learning features.
  • A Portfolio, known as Muestra (Alexandrian: Showcase), a digital space to showcase student work, projects, and achievements to the public, with links to popular social media.
    • This includes a (private) Grading and Assessment Results Tracker.
  • A Messaging Module, known as Campus, with group chats and video conferencing for collaboration with peers and teachers.
  • A Event Calendar, known as Agenda Escolar (Alexandrian: School Agenda), where they can stay informed about school events and activities.

For teachers, this includes:
